Hockenheim disaster!!!

The man was so silent. So was his car. There was no hurry in his walk. There was no perspiration on his face. The Man slowly climbed out of his car and started walking to his Driver on the inside of the fence. Thats the real meaning of being THE ICEMAN. The stone cold hardened face did not frown even for a single second in the pit garage for the entire race.

Tyaga - you were right. The car is simply not good enough. I did a bad speculation about Mclaren. Ever since I heard that the Ferrari Chief Designer has switched to Mclaren, I was happy that the competition would be tough between Mc's
and the Scarlet's. But things went the other way by which teams like Renault and BAR are showing a strong improvement in the design and power, bridging a gap between the highly advanced teams.

Mclaren's... The car... the silver and black beast had an upgraded rather completely new aero pack on it. The most obvious one was the Triple deck front blades which were found earlier only in Ferrari. The car was practically using more road than any other car on the circuit. Meaning the car stayed in the racing line at all speeds and all conditions that it was put into by Kimi and Montoya. All they needed was the power pack to be strong and reliable and last for 67 laps. But it dint.. and the blame is not on Kimi.. not on Ron... not on team... although the blame was turned to
one single engineer who forgot to re-fasten the pressure pump valve after a check, which caused the car to stall with a huge lock up in the rear wheels making it look like an engine seizure.

My heart just went out for Kimi again. Probably by now, his management would be pushing him to the limit to sign off the papers for Ferrari after MS leaves. And he is human too. Maybe he has started thinking about other options already. The Ferrari's simply sucked. Rubeno was struggling and nowhere in the picture. MS showed the world why he is called an Ace!!! Button simply could not pass the limping F2005 for so long... held back by MS. Every time he moved around or caught the back of the Ferrari, MS closed the door and he knew exactly where to push the car to its limits and where to slow it down. Even Giancarlo could not pass him until the penultimate lap with the so called FERRARI EATER -R25.

Alonso... the luck is just shining on this fellow. No more comments. The happy news is, Ferrari is back to Modena. The development has been started for the new V8 Spec cars for 2006. Hope they hit the mark in the first race and get back to the championship Mode. There might be a lot of driver swapping next year too.

Narain Karthikeyan, might or might not stay in Jordan.. rather Midland next year. The Russian team boss is keen on bringing on Russian Drivers into F1. He had a good start, then a bad season so far. nevertheless, he made his mark. That matters the most. May luck be with him.

hey,
MS has already started thinking about 2006. Does this mean that he is transmuted from an immortal icon to an all too vinvible sports person, who doesn't do everything possible till the last second to make sure he establishes his hold on the game? There are also claims that he has realised that age is a huge factor for F1(I mean Schumi racing with people half his age!!!)

Dear KD...

u shoudl realise one thing that F1 is not all about the driver. One screw not tightened matters a lot in F1.It was very obvious in the last race that Age did not matter for MS and he hasnt lost his touch either.

saw the qualifying? Rubens car was some where with the minardi's n jordans. Schumi was in 5th. He pulled time out of nowhere in the 2nd section of the ckt which is the most demanding part both on the car and driver.Thats the part that seperates Men from Boys. Kimi showed some improvement in this part only. Alonso still drove like a kid... frenzy and eccentric.

yeah age does matter.. but when u enjoy something u do the most.. nothing really matters. A 92 yr old man still goes to gym in England.. some Mishra... who was once Mr.Universe and looks damn fit even now.

Bottomline - Car isnt performing well. The main backdrop was cos of the design. After almost a decade Ferrari has changed its designer only cos he moved to Mclaren. Now Mclaren has a stable car but a bad engine. Ferrari have a good engine but an unstable car.F1 is so demanding adn u'llbe among the top only if everything works fine. Thats what is going wrong for both these top teams. It'll be sorted out sooner or later.

Next year.. its V8's... new rules and stuff... but i'm looking for 2007 season where lots of driver swapping is gonna happen. Just waiting to see Kimi in the scarlet red F2007..powering down to the Chequered flag.

Arjun,
Thanks for the insight. MS indeed proved that men survive by coming second in the Hungarian GP, although I expected this would be one big breakthrough for him, cos he was on pole. I guess even the stratergy is not working out for Ferrari, cos the refuelling part is where Kimi overtook. But Schumi was impressive cos he could fend off Ralf at the final corners.
